Biography

Kelci Kosin, soprano, is acclaimed for her emotionally compelling and dramatically nuanced performances. Recognized both nationally and internationally for her interpretation of contemporary repertoire, she has established herself as a versatile and expressive artist across the genres of art song, opera, and musical theatre.

Kelci's stage roles span a broad spectrum of classic and modern works, including Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus, Mim矛 in La Boh猫me, Fiordiligi in Cos矛 fan tutte, Suor Angelica in Suor Angelica, Lola in Gallantry, Grace Farrell in Annie, Dorothy Brock in 42nd Street, and Miss Honey in Matilda. Her versatility extends beyond traditional classical performance, having appeared with the Rolling Stones at Chicago鈥檚 United Center.

An ardent advocate for new music, Kelci is frequently engaged in the performance and premiere of contemporary works. She portrayed Trang in the Chicago premiere of Daron Hagen鈥檚 opera Amelia and gave the premiere of Marjorie Rusche鈥檚 Middletown Chronicles, broadcast on PBS as part of Indiana鈥檚 Bicentennial celebration. She also premiered Dana Wilson鈥檚 Love Me Like a Beautiful Dream at the 51st International Horn Symposium in Ghent, Belgium, and Frank Ferko鈥檚 Cartes de la guerre for voice and organ at the Sursa American Organ Concert. Most recently, she debuted Rusche鈥檚 Songs of Love and Death at the International Music by Women Festival.

Her concert repertoire includes featured appearances in Carl Orff鈥檚 Carmina Burana, Bach鈥檚 Cantata No. 51, Vivaldi鈥檚 Gloria, and Beethoven鈥檚 Symphony No. 9.

Kelci holds a Doctor of Arts in Voice Performance with a secondary specialization in Musical Theatre Studies from Ball State University. Known to her students as "Dr. K," she currently serves as Coordinator of Vocal Studies and Full-Time Practitioner in Residence for Voice at 黑料网911, where she also holds the role of Faculty Advising Fellow for music students.
